Tulga Crianza 2011 - Wine Review

We enjoyed this bottle of Tulga Crianza 2011, from Bodegas Pagos del Rey, which we bought from our local Lidl supermarket.
It was a substantial, yet light Rioja, concentrated, supple wine, with good tannins, from the Toro region of Spain.
There was an aged-red appearance to this wine, with aromas of chocolate and vanilla. And delicious cherries on the palate. The grape is Tempranillo, obviously as it's a Rioja and also subtle oak, and a bargain at £5.49, or £5.99 - can't remember exactly.

Lidl say this wine will harmonise and settle over the next year or two... But we don't believe in storing wine - wine is for drinking.
Lidl also say it's better with food... That's probably true, but... Yep! I'm sure you know we don't discriminate, we'll drink wine with, or without food.

Tulga Crianza 2011. Spanish wine. Wine. Red wine.

From the label -
Cherry red colour with garnet tones. On the nose, it displays aromas of red fruits, cream and vanilla, having been aged in new American and French oak barrels.
Fleshy on the palate, with polished tannins, it is a perfect partner for all kinds of meats, roasts, stews and cured cheeses.
Serve between 16c and 18c.
Have you tried Tulga Crianza 2011 from Lidl?
What did you think of it?
Good? Bad? Indifferent?
