Co-Op Spanish Red Wine - Wine Review

We don't purchase wine from our local Co-Op regularly, but when we do we're usually pretty happy with it, and this bottle of Spanish Red Wine was another good buy.

This wine was reasonably priced, had a lovely fruity aroma, and a pleasant rich spicy flavour.
I can't say more than that, and I know my description is a bit vague, but I can't remember exactly what this wine was like - as we drank it quite a while ago.

From the label -
Shiraz, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
This spicy full-bodied wine has a firm and savoury feel, with ripe fruit and a soft finish.
Easy-drinking, it can be enjoyed on its own or with pizza, pasta, red meats and cheeses.

Anciano, Tempranillo, Valdepenas, Reserva 2008 - Wine Review

We like Rioja!

Mr.R recently bought a bottle of Anciano, Tempranillo, Valdepenas, Reserva 2008.
It was a very palatable budget Rioja.

From the label -
In the timeless Spanish winemaking tradition, Anciano is matured for at least five years in our cellars to guarantee the perfect balance between ripe fruit and mellow oak character. 

Drinking well now. Enjoy with roast lamb, chicken, and other grilled meats, hearty casseroles and mature cheeses. 

Crikey! That's quite a wide variety of meals with which the winemakers says this wine will go well.
I say it would be good with food. :o And also by itself. :)
