Raw Food Diet

This morning I've been messing about online.
During my Internet surfing I came across a website about eating a raw food diet.
I then went on to read lots, and lots, more information about eating raw food.

As often, no, make that always, happens with everything I research online, I am now confused.
It always goes the same, I begin reading about something, I get to the stage where I'm convinced I know what I think and then I'll say to myself, I'll just read once more article, and then it all goes wrong. It goes wrong because I end up reading an article that states the exact opposite of everything I'd just read. Sigh!
So, now I don't know what to think about eating a raw diet.
I don't know what I believe, about what I've read.
I don't know what's genuine, or what is written with an ulterior motive. A lot of what I read was enticing obviously a scam, enticing the reader to click various links to other websites, and fill in their details on forms (which they will sell), and trying to sell the reader various things, books, videos, juicers, blenders etc.

The bulk of what I read though was interesting, it wasn't about flogging me any goods, but I'm still not sure about a raw food diet.

As I sit here continuing to think about my health, and the possibility of changing my diet to raw food only, I have dead flesh between my teeth.
I've just finished eating my lunch.
My lunch lovingly cooked by Mr.R.
My lunch of chicken sautéed in a rich garlic, onion, tomato, mushroom, and five spice sauce. The chicken was served with steamed potatoes, carrots, and broccoli.
My cooked lunch was hearty, and seriously yummy. :)

So now I'm wondering how I would feel if I do go raw, I can imagine sitting next to Mr.R as he eats delicious cooked meals, while I sit munching on cold raw food. I'm not sure I'd be able to do that.
I think just the lovely aromas of the food Mr.R cooks would be too much for me to resist.
Knowing me, I'd probably scoff my super-healthy raw food, and then nick a couple of mouthfuls off his plate. ;)

Having read so much information about eating a raw diet, my eyes are now bloodshot, my eyesight is blurry, and I'm not convinced that eating only raw foods is actually healthier than eating cooked foods.

Should humans eat food that has been cooked, is it good or bad for our health? Or should we only eat raw food?
It is all so confusing, there's nowhere to find the real truth.
Everyone seems to have a motive for their opinion, and everyones body is different.
Many years ago I decided to stop eating meat and fish. It wasn't long before I began to feel quite unwell, and the longer I continued with a vegetarian diet, the more unhealthy I felt.
I restored my health by eating meat and fish again. It wasn't long before I felt much better.
Then a few years ago I decided to try a vegetarian diet once again. This time I experienced the same symptoms as previously, and worse. This time not only did I feel unwell and unhealthy, I also put on lots of weight, and no, I wasn't eating lots of cheese and various other fatty foods.
Once again I started eating meat and fish again, and I felt much better very soon.
I concluded that a vegetarian diet is not good for me.

So, I guess it's a bit strange that I'm considering a raw food diet, which from what I've read should also exclude meat and fish. No sushi then. ;) :o
Oh, I don't know!
I don't know, what to do, or what to think.
Why is it all so complicated?

As I said earlier in this post I ate chicken for lunch today, and very nice it was too, despite the fact that whilst reading about a raw food diet this morning, I'd read that 80% of chicken in America has cancer.
I already knew about chemicals, pesticides, steroids and antibiotics being in our food, but I hadn't thought about diseases like cancer.
Yuck! I didn't eat American chicken for my lunch, it was British, but I doubt British chicken is any healthier.

I wish I could afford to eat only organic foods, as I'm sure that's a good thing for everyone.
I also wish food manufacturers would play nice, not be obsessed with making profits at the expense of our health. They are literally killing us. Unfortunately big business, is in the business of murder.

I feel like I've wasted almost all of the day, thinking about, reading about, and worrying about food far more than I ever have before. I'm still not sure about eating a raw food only diet. I don't know if it's a good idea or not.

Ironically, this morning not only was I reading about a raw food diet, I was waiting for a delivery.
It arrived before lunch. What was it? A shiny new cooker. Ha! Maybe it's a sign, I should be eating cooked food. :o
Will I ever cook using the new oven? Will I choose a raw food diet?
I probably won't use the cooker because Mr.R does all of our cooking. Hehe! :o
I think further research is required before I can make a decision.
In the meantime I may or may not be eating meat, fish, and other cooked foods.

Despite this blog post being about raw food, I've added a photo of our new cooker, and much used steamer, simply because we haven't got any raw food in the house - it was all cooked for our delicious lunch. ;) :o

Do you have any experience of a raw food diet?
Do you eat a raw food diet.
