I am not a philatelist, but I do like stamps.
The art on many of them is often beautiful, and sometimes interesting.
Recently I've been sorting through a couple of boxes of our old stuff that's been in storage for the past few years, which was when I found some old letters, postcards etc.
I'm not sure why we kept the letters, it's odd behaviour considering we gave away everything we owned when we left France and set off on our World travels. So, now I've photographed them, Mr.R is going to burn them all - much better than recycling.
These stamps are actually from our first bout of World travels, which we enjoyed before we moved to France.
No doubt I'll come across mail from our most recent travels, and I'll take photos of those stamps before they too get burnt.
Hmm, I say most recent travels, but we've been back in Blighty for well over a year now. How depressing!
Anyway, I photographed the stamps, which is why I thought I'd share just a few of them on a blog post.
If you've seen the majority of my blog posts from the last few days, I'm sure you'll agree that photos of stamps make a change from booze shots.
Are you a philatelist? If so, what type of stamps do you collect, and why?
