Vega Del Cega, Valdepenas, 2012

Mr.R buys a lot of the wine we drink from Lidl, mainly because it's where he does the bulk of our food shopping. And we consider red wine to be as essential as food.
One of his recent red wine purchases was a bottle of Vega Del Cega, Valdepenas.

We like Spanish wine, and we enjoyed this red wine, it was smooth with a lovely flavour of red berries.
The label made us laugh because it says, 'once opened, consume within 3 days' - neither of us understood what that meant. Three days? Why would there be any wine left in the bottle after 3 days? More accurately, in our house, there's never any wine in the bottle 3 hours after opening.
I know! I know! Joking about alcohol consumption is not big and it's not clever. Drinking it is very very enjoyable though. Cheers!

The label on the bottle says -

A wine made from a dazzling array of Tempranillo and Garnacha grape varieties with a delightful cherry red colour. It is a balanced and fruity wine, with a flavour reminiscent of red berries. It is an ideal accompaniment to meat, cheese, pate and rice dishes. Once opened, consume within 3 days.

Have you tasted Vega Del Cega, Valdepenas?
Did you like it?
